In the year of the fire horse, traditionally associated with turbulence and transformation – this panel of experts and journalists unpacked the geopolitical tensions shaping Asia, the forces reshaping Asia in 2026 and what they mean for the region and the wider world.

Conceived and executed by the late Palestinian photographer and filmmaker Ismail Abu Hatab from Gaza, and produced by the creative space BYPA - By Palestine, this exhibition was not just a photo display, it was an immersive sensory experience that transcended traditional storytelling. Inside a tent built from torn humanitarian aid fabric and layered with real sea sand, visitors stepped into the reality of Gaza.

With the world’s youngest population, vast critical mineral resources and growing geopolitical influence - reinforced by hosting the G20 Leaders’ Summit for the first time - Africa is playing an increasingly important role in shaping the global order. This international panel in Hong Kong brought together journalists and experts from Hong Kong and Southern Africa to explore the continent’s rising global influence.
