The year ahead 2026 panel examined the geopolitical landscape shaping Asia and the wider global order, bringing together leading journalists and experts, including:

  • Michael Bociurkiw, Global affairs analyst, senior fellow at the Atlanic Council and Founder of World Briefing report on substack

  • Victor Mallet, Senior Editor, World News, Financial Times; former FT Asia editor and Paris bureau chief.

  • Thitinan Pongsudhirak, Professor of International Relations at Chulalongkorn University and Senior Fellow at the Institute of Security and International Studies

  • Huizhong Wu, correspondent at Associated Press covering China and Southeast Asia, formerly correspondent in Taiwan.

  • Ayla Jean Yackley, freelance journalist based in Istanbul who writes primarily for the Financial Times. A former Reuters correspondent, she covers politics, economics, and culture, with reporting experience across the Middle East, Europe, and the Caucasus.

  • Moderated by Johnathan Head, South East Asia Correspondent, BBC News.

What we did:

Co-curated with the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand (FCCT), The Media Connector led speaker coordination, editorial direction and delivery of the discussion - from pre-event preparation through to live execution.

Between Sky & Sea - Photogallery by Ismail Abu Hatab

An immersive exhibition by the late Palestinian photographer and filmmaker Ismail Abu Hatab, bringing audiences closer to the lived realities of Gaza through visual storytelling.

Delivered in London by The Media Connector, in collaboration with BYPA – By Palestine, the exhibition involved full end-to-end execution - including securing the venue, sourcing materials, designing and building the space, coordinating volunteers and securing media coverage with AJ+.

Curated by The Media Connector, the event brought together perspectives across regions, with The Media Connector leading speaker curation, editorial direction and delivery of the discussion as well as overseeing the technical setup and overall production and design of the event space.
